Lazy week in South Florida
January 26, 2023
Our last blog entry was a week ago and I thought I’d better update it before I forget all we’ve done in the last seven days. Therein lies the problem, we haven’t done anything really blog worthy!
How can I make mundane tasks sound exciting?
During an exhilarating 10K road race I called and rescheduled several doctors’ appointments! If you’re not buying that, just leave out the part in italics.
Sunday was church day; Millie watched the service from her church in Myrtle Beach which they broadcast live. I was sitting nearby playing FreeCell on the computer; do I get any blessing thru osmosis from being nearby but not actually paying attention?
One time consuming and frustrating task I had was trying to get a RV Park reservation on the west coast of Florida. Traditionally, I’ve never had much luck finding space in decent parks over there. This year was the worst; most parks aren’t even answering the phone. We plan on swinging by the west coast on the way home to visit some RV friends we haven’t seen in many years. . I finally found a spot not far from their winter RV park.
Our route next week when we head north |
When I shared my problem of writing about nothing, Millie told me to just say this, “As I look across the table at my wife, in all her radiance, there can be no other!” I’m thinking that must have come from one of the novels she’s read recently, it is all true though!
We returned for the third time to the Hispanic market in Redland. I bought a stainless steel screen thingy for two bucks; it’s supposed to catch hair in the bathtub drain. Millie bought a gadgety thing to hang her unmentionables outside; she doesn’t like to put them in the drier. No picture, use your imagination!
You can find anything at the Hispanic market |
Millie has read one book and is working on a second this week. I’ve finished the Carl Hiaasen book and started reading one of Millie’s Stephaney Plum novels, its good fun and easy reading.
We went to Lowes and Home Depot and looked at snap together laminate flooring. I’m thinking of putting it down in the RV. I know, you’re thinking he must really be bored down there. Maybe, but if that’s the price I have to pay to spend the winter in 80 degree sunny weather, I’ll man up and tuff it out!
See you next week on the blog!
